the FOUND Side of Lost

blues not always welcome

I keep busy by laying here in silence
while ghosts crowd the darkness between my words
I keep sane by contemplating this mess
not-so-gently plummeting into my comforting abyss

Not knowing that his curse is a blessing
an intruder decides to shower me with his welcoming presence
he dresses in his usual not-so-distant fix of reality
a relentless yet sneaking noise maker with an echoing hum

As I try to uncover a road to sleep, made from ruins of love
and try to maintain a promise to wake with the rising sun
ever persistent this blue devil trying to drown a smile away
through a tiny speaker, his twelve-bars victoriously destroy silence

Compelled to jump into that slow walking bass
to make a friend of this intruders shattering tones
and however strong this devils temptations grow
as long as I fear silence, he’ll always be around…

So for now I’ll sleep soundless, harmonic progression not welcome
I’ll enjoy dreaming of a half broken love and
declare myself a promise to wake with the rising sun.
Because, as usual… the blues will always find his way in.
