100 Thousand Poets for Change, this saturday!

Hey guys and gals, come make history with us on Saturday, the 29th!

Join us for the 100 Thousand Poets for Change!

What is it? 100 Thousand Poets for Change is an annual event in which poets, musicians and artists around the world come together to call for environmental, social and political change. On September 29, 2012, nearly 700 concerts, readings, workshops, flash mobs and demonstrations will take place in more than 115 countries around the world.

100 Thousand Poets for Change’s Founders Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion stated that peace and sustainability, “…is a major concern worldwide and the guiding principle for this global event.” All participants are hoping, through their actions and events, to seize and redirect the political and social dialogue of the day and turn the narrative of civilization towards peace and sustainability.

Beyond Baroque is hosting the 12-hour long Los Angeles segment of the event.

When? I’ll be reading during the 1pm-2pm slot (but there are soooo many more readers and musicians) Open mic 11am-12pm and some awesome poetry from 12pm-11pm

Cost? FREE! Donations will be accepted. Free Parking. It’s a potluck so bring some grub with you to share.

Who? The 1pm-2pm slot will be hosted by Jessica Wilson and features Jessica Ceballos (that’s me!), Jayson Pida, James Berkowitz, Lee Boek, Mike the Poet Sonksen, Apryl Skies, Cklara Moradian, Charles L. Davis, Julio the Conga Poet

The entire event will be streaming online at : http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-poet-s-soapbox and will be archived by Stanford University.
