NBA LOS ANGELES OPENER: Mavericks @ Lakers: Can you say ridiculous?!

The opener is set for Tuesday. No Kaman, no Dirk, but Mayo. Lakers have this opener down blindfolded. Nash, Jamison, and Howard will show a preview of exactly what the Lakers have in store for the season, even with Howard coming out of a healing period. The real fun will be watching the young Mavs defense against Gasol & Co.. As long as they can roll through the season without having to play the Kobe show, I’ll be watching with undivided attention.

Much needed adjustments for the Lakers:

#1: Howard becomes a team player, which includes defense, especially having less of an offensive roll.

#2: Nash shows Howard and Kobe how to be team players, and maybe learn some defense while he’s at it, especially having less of an offensive roll.

#3: Lots of behavior therapy for all players…like tons. A little extra for Howard and Nash. Maybe start a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds, therapy can get pricey these days!

#4: I really think they should get rid of the journeyman who walks around barefoot and steps on parking lot spike strips. Yeah, Steve Blake I’m talking about you, former Clipper or not. (Not too smart of a move, but maybe he was smoking a lil’ ganja.)

#5: Just give the ball to Nash please. Thank you.

The Clippers, by the way, begin their winning season on Wednesday. To echo the words of a one very intelligent Mr. Ralph Lawler, I’ve never been more excited for a Clipper season. Ever.
